Eastbourne has won the Seaside Award for eleven years running. The town is a fine example of a planned Victorian resort, with all the facilities for a perfect holiday, including the main resort beach, the Quality Coast idyllic Falling Sands, water sports off the East beaches and secluded beaches along the Sussex Heritage Coast.

Main beach

The main beach is ideal for summer swimming, and a great place to perfect your tan. Lifeguards, a first-aid post, refreshment kiosks and baby-changing and disabled facilities make our sandy shore a safe and convenient place, no matter how active or how restful your holiday plans!
Beachy Head

Beachy Head

To make the most of your stay by the seaside, we recommend a leisurely cruise on the pleasure boat that heads up from the beach to the breathtaking 530 feet high white cliffs of Beachy Head,. You can walk from the foot of Beachy Head or climb to the top for stunning views of Eastbourne, the English Channel, and it’s famous red and white-stripped lighthouse.

For those who prefer spicier thrills, a speedboat ride from the end of the pier provides spectacular views along with a great adrenaline rush. Or if that isn't your style, then paddleboats and pedalos are available for hire on the Princes Park Boating Lake.
In October runners from across the world travel to the South Downs to take part in the 26-mile Beachy Head Marathon.

Kids' imaginations will run wild at Fort Fun Family Fun Park. There are two acres of entertainment, with rides for both the young and the young at heart. Boy (and girl) racers can jump behind the wheel of the Honda-powered Formula One Go-Karts.  For those who prefer more sedate vehicles, a visit to the Miniature Steam Railway Adventure Park is a must.

To the east of the pier is the Treasure Island Adventure Park. Give the kids a real treat with hours of fun in sandpits, paddling pools, climbing frames and much more!

Drusillas Park (www.drusillas.co.uk) is widely regarded as the best small zoo in the country, with hundreds of exotic animals from monkeys and meerkats to crocodiles and penguins and attractions such as Go Bananas, Go Wild, Amazon Adventure, Monkey Kingdom, a Thomas the Tank Engine Train, Jungle Adventure Golf, Panning for Gold, Lemurl and Explorers Lagoon.

Eastbourne's seafront promenade is five miles long, with plenty to see and do!

Highlights include water sports, mini golf, children’s theme parks, , gardens, Napoleonic fortress & Military museum, leisure pool, Sovereign Harbour, Dotto Train, boat trips to Beachy Head, a 1930’s Bandstand a with live military band concerts, and the Wish Tower Puppet Museum, where you can learn about puppetry from the earliest experiments with hand shadows to modern animatronic wizardry.

At night, the impressivel and elegant Victorian Pier is lit by thousands of bright white lights that reflect from the water. Inside you can find gift shops, arcades, bars and nightclubs.

Beach cabins, sun loungers & parasols are all available for hire along the seafront. Traditional deckchairs and deckchairs specially made for romantic couples or children are also available to hire or buy.

To the east of the pier is Sovereign Harbour, which celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2008.
